Set up a SAML APP in the Azure AD Admin interface


Follow the steps below to set up a SAML APP in Azure AD and make it ready to connect with Skolon:

1. Log in as Administrator to your Azure Portal

2. In the left panel, click Azure Active Directory

3. Click on Enterprise programs, in the window that appears click on Add program

4. Click Create your own application and name it Skolon Azure AD

5. "What do you want to do with your program?" Choose to integrate other programs that you do not find in the gallery.


Configure a SAML app in Azure


Now you have created a tool that we will now configure to authenticate users into Skolon.

1. Log in as Administrator to your Azure Portal

2. In the left panel, click Azure Active Directory

3. Click on Enterprise programs, in the window that will appear click on Skolon Azure AD 

4. In the left menu, select Simple login and then SAML

5. Now a couple of boxes numbered 1,2,3... In the first box numbered 1 click Edit

6. In the menu that appears, fill in the following:

Identifier:
https://ext-idp.skolon.com/

Reply URL:
https://ext-idp.skolon.com/ 

Login URL:
https://ext-idp.skolon.com/a/ 

IMPORTANT: Mark the checkbox next to the URL you filled in so that it becomes standard (Default).

7. Click the icon to edit in box 2 and copy the claim address for agreed attribute (usually email address or Unique User Identifier)

Put the copied claim address in an email to Skolon together with the metadata URL we will retrieve in step 9.

Example: http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/ws/2005/05/identity/claims/emailaddress

8. Back to Configure SAML-based single sign-on scroll down to box number 3 and copy the URL found under App Federation Metadata URL

9. Send both URL addresses from step 8 and step 9 to the Skolon representative responsible for your technical setup.


Assign the application to Azure AD accounts


In order to use the login you have now set up, you need to assign it to the users who will use Skolon.

1. Log in as Administrator to your Azure Portal.

2. In the left panel, click Azure Active Directory.

3. Click on Enterprise programs and click on the Skolon Azure AD program.

4. In the left navigation menu, select users and groups.

5. Select the Add User button.

6. In the Add Assignment window, select users and groups.

7. Search for the groups that should have access to Skolon and click Select

8. When you have selected the groups you want to assign, click Assign under Add assignment


Now you are done and your Skolon representative will inform you as soon as your IDP is configured in Skolon and ready to be used!
