Introduction to Tool Management

Authors list

Through Skolon's tool management, you get an overview and can manage all your tools in Skolon. In the overview, you can search for specific tools and also sort by name, tool type, and expiration date to more easily get an overview of the different tools.

There are three types of tools:

  • Integrated Tools

  • Integrated tools require the assignment of licenses, which you can easily do through the tool management. You can see when licenses expire and also renew expiring licenses with a few simple clicks.

For integrated tools, there are three different types of licenses:

  • School license: These licenses apply to an entire organization or school, i.e., all users in the organization/school can take part of the license.

  • Class/group license: Applies to a specific number of students and teachers who must belong to the same class or group in Skolon.

  • Single license: Single licenses can be assigned to a specific user.

Licenses can have different availability. Those with availability Student, teacher, administrator work for all roles in Skolon. If the availability is Student or Teacher, only users with that specific role can be assigned these licenses.

More about license assignment can be found in the section Manage tools.

If you want to know more about buying or renewing licenses, you can find this in the section Purchases in Skolon.

Free Tools

As an administrator, you can add and assign free tools to the entire school, individual classes/groups, or individual users, as needed.

More information about this can be found in the section Add and manage free tools.

Local Tools

You can create and assign local tools. More about this can be found in the section Local Tools.
